Watches of the Week: 20/09/2021 - 26/09/2021

Welcome to the next edition of our regular series, Watches of the Week, where we feature all of the newest watch releases of the past seven days. In this week's instalment, we'll be covering new watches from Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Omega and Panerai. Enjoy!

Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire

From Armin Strom we have the super cool monochromatic Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire. It features a grey-toned sapphire dial, giving the wearer an almost uninterrupted view of the fantastic movement. The movement's design is as amazing as is its groundbreaking technological prowess, which includes a black plate with a guilloche pattern created by Kari Voutilainen, bridges coated with dark grey ruthenium, while the barrel and micro-rotor coated in rhodium. A supremely captivating package from the independent watchmaker indeed.

Vacheron Constantin Releases Limited "Everest" Overseas Editions

Vacheron Constantin has answered the pleas of the watch community and has released two new epic timepieces modelled after the acclaimed piece unique Everest Overseas released some years ago for the American explorer and photographer Cory Richards. The two pieces include a Dual Time and a Chronograph model, both released in a limited run of only 150 pieces and both featuring that rugged granular look that the original piece unique had. My pick of the would definitely be the Dual Time, though.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater

It's been some 90 years since the Reverso was introduced to the world and over 150 years since Jaeger-LeCoultre created its first minute repeater. So, to celebrate these two momentous occasions, Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled its latest super complication, the Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater. Powered by the Calibre 944, a movement that is completely in-house designed and made, the new Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater features an openworked front dial that displays the movement in all of its glory, while on the back dial what we get is instead a dial that is very much in-tune with what we've all come to expect from the Reverso. Magnificent stuff!

Ulysse Nardin x Monaco Yacht Show

To celebrate its partnership with the Monaco Yacht Show entering its 10th year, Ulysse Nardin has released two new watches. The first is the Diver Monaco Yacht Show, an ocean-faring, yachting-inspired diver's chronograph. The second is the super complex Marine Mega Yacht, a watch whose aesthetic is inspired by the nautical world's giants. Clad in rose gold, the Marine Mega Yacht features a tourbillon inspired by the architecture of a yacht's propellor, with the stern of a yacht taking centre stage in the middle of the dial. Epic.

Panerai Submersible S BRABUS Black Ops Edition

Panerai has partnered with Brabus, the specialist German engineering brand best known for turning Mercedes Benz's AMG models into all-out adrenaline machines. The commemorative piece is the Submersible S BRABUS Black Ops Edition, reference PAM01240. This is actually the first Panerai to ever feature a skeletonised automatic movement, but the innovation doesn't stop there. The Submersible S BRABUS Black Ops Edition has a total of 3 years' worth of research and development, with the end result a highly contemporary, avant-garde package that epitomises both brands' forward-thinking spirits.

Brellum Wyvern GMT Chronometer

Here is the latest release from Brellum. Brellum is no stranger to Haulogerie, having featured the watchmaker's awesome Pandial Marina 2 some time back. Here we have the Wyvern GMT Chronometer, a functional and super sleek looking GMT. The Wyvern GMT Chronometer has that perfect blend of looks, of durability, of wearability and of real-world applicability that you look for in any GMT. Super legible, easy enough to dress up or down and with a variety of colours to choose from the Wyvern GMT Chronometer takes a step further by utilising a chronometer certified calibre that ensures precision and accuracy as well as an overall slim-line look. The new Brellum Wyvern GMT Chronometer is priced from 1,995CHF.

Chopard Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF

From Chopard we have the new and groundbreaking Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF. This high-frequency edition features a titanium case and a stunning textured dial capped off with that exceptional manufacture Calibre 01.12-C. The movement features a high-frequency escapement that beats at a whopping 57,600 vibrations per hour, or 8 Hz. The end result is a wholly pleasing aesthetic that is matched by the prowess of that incredible high-frequency movement.

Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph

Yep, quite a mouthful. But what we have here is that stereotypical game changer. Here is the new Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph. For lovers and aficionados of timing watches, the new Speedmaster Chronoscope Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph features a tachymeter, a telemeter and pulsometer all bundled into one lovely package. This does make for a somewhat busy looking dial, but it's all done in completely legible manner with minimal indicator crossover. Powering the Speedmaster Chronoscope Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9908, which is an engaging hand-wound movement with a power reserve of 60-hours. The new Speedmaster Chronoscope Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph is available in a steel case with either a strap or matching bracelet, as well as a bronze gold model. Pricing for the new Speedmaster Chronoscope Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph starts at $12,725AUD for the stainless steel models on a strap, and peaks at $21,450AUD for the bronze gold model. Definitely want one.
