The winner of the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève “Petite Aiguille” Prize in 2023, the Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto ushered in a new era of watchmaking for the brand. Highly technical, equally as complex and utterly impressive, the C1 Bel Canto is a wonderful bit of kit for collectors and enthusiasts to enjoy watchmaking on another level of complexity. The C1 Bel Canto has the novel capacity to chime every hour on the hour, a complication known as the “Sonnerie au Passage”. On the hour, a hammer strikes the chime to sound off a beautiful “ding”, letting the wearer know that another hour has passed. Perhaps even cooler is what happens just before that, when the winding up of the hammer is able to be observed on the dial. Like many things in watches, often exposing yourself to these watches in hand, where you can see, feel and in this case hear the piece itself makes all the difference. From the floating elements of the dial to the architecture of the movement to the finishing, the Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto astounds.

Condition:

 

The Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto was purchased brand new by the original owner in 2024 and remains in mint condition. There are very little signs of wear with no remarkable blemishes or markings on the case or bracelet. The watch has been used sparingly, with the movement running well and the sounding mechanism functioning as originally intended.
