Watches of the Week: 02/03/2020 - 08/03/2020

Another week down, another round up of all the latest instalment of our regular series focusing on all of the newest watch-related releases, 'Watches of the Week'. In this week's column we take a look at a few new pieces from the likes of Breitling, Ulysse Nardin, H. Moser & Cie and Tissot. Enjoy!

Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition

Breitling has just announced its latest creation, the Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition. Made to celebrate the new emphatic Bentley Continental GT Convertible Mulliner Edition, the Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition features many stylistic cues that are consistent with Bentley's latest Continental edition. The Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition is limited to 1,000 pieces and will be priced at $11,690AUD.

Ulysse Nardin Freak X Additions

Ulysse Nardin has announced two new additions to its Freak X collection, aplty named the Freak X Ice and the Freak X Magma. Both pieces are enigmatic and resonate different emotional aspects. The Freak X Ice is made out of titanium and features a white-grey aesthetic, imparting on one a sense of calm. And then there is the Freak X Magma, made out of lava red carbon fibre and titanium black DLC, this model really gets the heart pumping. Both pieces are, of course, really quite exquisite and a wonderful representation of Ulysse Nardin pushing the boundaries of a piece that in itself already pushes the boundaries. The Freak X Ice is priced at €24,000 while the Freak X Magma is priced at €27,000.

H. Moser & Cie Introduces Three New Endeavour Models

Minimalism coupled with beauty seems to be the trend with these new Endeavour models from H. Moser & Cie. Building on its fumé dial platform, Moser has introduced three distinct models. First we have the Endeavour Centre Seconds Diamonds which features a bezel set with 60 brilliant-cut diamonds. The second piece is the Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept which is available in either white gold, red gold or steel. And finally we have the Endeavour Tourbillon Concept, also available in white gold, red gold or steel, featuring H. Moser & Cie's celebrated manufacture calibre HMC 804 with its one-minute flying tourbillon and double hairspring. Pricing yet to be confirmed.

Grand Seiko & Seiko New 2020 Additions

Grand Seiko and Seiko, to a lesser extent, have as of recently absolutely gone to town, unveiling a wave of new releases of the past few days. Instead of covering each one, we're just going to go right ahead and pick our favourite of the bunch, the Grand Seiko Re-Creations Of The First Grand Seiko, made for the 60th anniversary of Grand Seiko. Featuring three distinct models, the SBFW257 in platinum, the SBGW258 in yellow gold and finally the SBGW259 in what Grand Seiko calls Brilliant Hard Titanium. The titanium version is easily my pick of the bunch. Pricing for these new pieces range from $8,000USD for the titanium version, $26,000USD for the gold version, while the platinum variant will set you back $38,000USD.

Tissot's Bespoke NBA Collection

Tissot celebrated its close association with the NBA as its official timekeeper by releasing three dynamic and team-inspired collections of watches. Each collection and each model draws inspiration and stylistic cues from the team it was created to represent, including a leather strap imitating the look of a basketball and stitches in the colour of the different teams.

Unimatic x Massena LAB Modello Uno Ref. U1-ML6

Renowned enthusiast, collector and knower of all things horology, William Massena has recently teamed up with Unimatic to produce the LAB Modello Uno Ref. U1-ML6. Made in a limited run of 99 pieces and only available through the Massena LAB, the LAB Modello Uno Ref. U1-ML6 features a combination of vintage style hues coupled with modernity. The tropical dial was made so by immersing it in a galvanic bath while the lume was applied by hand. The LAB Modello Uno Ref. U1-ML6 is powered by the automatic calibre Seiko NH35A, is priced at $850USD and at the time of publication is unfortunately sold out.
