Footballers & Their Watches - April 2020

Welcome back to our monthly round up where we find the coolest watches worn by some of the world's most famous kickers of the round ball in 'Footballers & Their Watches'. In this month's column we'll be featuring players like Sergio Ramos, Virgil Van Dijk and Marcus Rashford wearing pieces from Patek Philippe, Richard Mille and Rolex. Stay safe and enjoy!

Ousmane Dembélé - Barcelona F.C. - Patek Philippe 5980A Nautilus Chronograph

The young Frenchman many considered the next big thing for Barcelona following his move from Borussia Dortmund for €105 million was seen sporting the ultra-cool Patek Philippe 5980A Nautilus Chronograph with a retail price of $51,000USD.

Virgil Van Dijk - Liverpool - Richard Mille RM 17-01 Tourbillon

The best defender in the world and absolute titan for Liverpool pairs the super expensive and super contemporary £470,000 Richard Mille RM 17-01 Tourbillon with a fairly casual get up.

Gini Wijnaldum - Liverpool - Patek Philippe 5980/1R Nautilus Chronograph

Another absolute mainstay for Liverpool, in this case the engine that is Gini Wijnaldum, was seen wearing the solid gold Patek Philippe 5980/1R Nautilus Chronograph which retails for $100,500AUD.

Sergio Ramos - Real Madrid - Patek Philippe 5968A Aquanaut Chronograph

The notorious defender for Real Madrid can be seen sporting the highly desirable and virtually impossible to get Patek Philippe 5968A Aquanaut Chronograph which costs 38,600CHF.

Nélson Semedo - Barcelona - Rolex Datejust II 116300

Another Barcelona man, this time in the form of Nélson Semedo. Pictured here, Semedo is wearing a red dialled Datejust that seems to have been dunked in a pool of diamonds. Retail cost for this iced-out Rolex is $46,500USD

James Vardy – Leceister City - Richard Mille RM 17-01 Tourbillon

The rags-to-riches striker was seen cradling the newest member of his family while wearing the ultra-complicated Richard Mille RM 17-01 Tourbillon. The Leceister City forward is beloved by his fans and quickly shot to fame during the super successful 2015-2016 Premier League season where he and his team won the Premier League against all odds.

Naby Keïta - Liverpool - Rolex Daytona 116505

Call me bias, but Naby Keïta is the third Liverpool player to feature in this month's 'Footballers & Their Watches'. Is it my fault Liverpool players have such great taste in watches?! Here is the midfield maestro wearing the drop-dead gorgeous Rolex Daytona 116505 which is priced at $55,550AUD.

Marcus Rashford - Manchester United - Richard Mille RM 35-02

The star forward for Manchester United and symbol of hope for the English national football team, Marcus Rashford has a penchant for super high end horology. Here is the acclaimed Richard Mille RM 35-02 paired with an orange strap which retails for $135,000USD.

Sead Kolašinac - Arsenal - Rolex GMT-Master II 126715CHNR

Arsenal's star left back Sead Kolašinac was wearing the Rolex GMT-Master II

126715CHNR which can be seen peeking out the bottom of the cuff of his jumper. The Rolex GMT-Master II 126715CHNR is one of my favourite watches and costs $54,050AUD.

Jack Wilshere - West Ham United - Rolex Daytona 116518LN

Once one of the most promising midfielders in England in the last decade, Jack Wilshere who now plies his trade for Westham United was seen sporting the $40,150AUD Rolex Daytona 116518LN. One of my favourite players, even though he played for Arsenal...

Edgar Davids - Retired - Cartier Santos Two-Tone

The Dutch maestro who was best known for those infamous goggles is now retired, but that doesn't mean he's any worse for wear. Here he is wearing the classical Cartier Santos in a two-tone metal configuration priced at €8300. One of the all time greats. Little known fact: he actually wore those famous goggles due to ongoing issues with glaucoma.
