MR PORTER x Haulogerie: Watch Picks of the Week #116

Another week down, another round up of our favourite watches available on the premier men's online fashion destination, MR PORTER. In this week's edition, we'll be featuring a handful of super desirable watches, including pieces from H. Moser & Cie, Piaget and Panerai.

Piaget Altiplano Diamonds

Piaget is built on more than 140 years of experience designing fine watches and jewellery. Fitted with a rich-blue dial and alligator strap, this 'Altiplano' timepiece has been expertly crafted in Switzerland from 18-karat white gold, and is dusted with gleaming diamonds around the bezel, lugs and buckle, along with baguette-cut stones at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 markers. The inner workings of the ultra-thin 1200P automatic movement are visible through the exhibition case back.

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Monobalancier Skeleton

Up until now, the only solution to have a white watch was to work with ceramic, which is why this Roger Dubuis 'Excalibur Monobalancier' timepiece is so special and unique. It's been made in Switzerland from lightweight MCF carbon that's highly resistant to UV light to ensure the fresh hue won't fade. The skeleton dial with a signature star-shaped design displays the in-house calibre RD820SQ automatic movement, as well as Super-LumiNova®-coated hands and indices that make it easy to read in the dark. It's set on a durable rubber strap that mimics the markings of Pirelli’s racing tires.

Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Complete Calendar

"They have a talent that no machine could ever replace," says Vacheron Constantin of its master watchmakers - expertise has passed down from generation to generation since the maison was founded in 1755. Manufactured in Switzerland, this polished 18-karat pink gold 'FiftySix' watch features luminescent hands and indices, a calendar with displays for date, day and month and a precision moon-phase indicator so accurate it only needs adjusting once every 122 years. It's fitted on a leather strap and has an exhibition case back revealing the calibre 2460 QCL/1 automatic movement that's engraved with the Hallmark of Geneva.

Girard-Perregaux Classic Bridges Limited Edition Skeleton

Girard-Perregaux's 'Classic Bridges' watch is designed with a skeleton dial and sapphire glass case back to showcase the Maison's exquisite expertise in Haute Horology - it turned watchmaking on its head in the 1860s by making the invisible visible and this collection reimagines the merging of design and mechanics with a contemporary eye. The new in-house calibre GP08600-0001 automatic movement boasts more than 200 components and two iconic arrow-shaped bridges. This pink gold model measures a sleek 40mm and is fitted with a black alligator strap.

Panerai Luminor Chrono PAM01111

Florentine watchmaker Panerai has long experimented with materials - its founder pioneered Radiomir, the first substance of its kind to give luminosity to dials. Part of the 'Luminor' family that debuted in 1949, this reference is cast from innovative Goldtech™, which is resistant to oxidation thanks to the addition of platinum in the blend. It's powered by a P.9200. chronograph movement and fitted with an elegant alligator strap that matches the dark-blue sandwich dial. The crown-protecting safety lock, left-hand chronograph pushers and cutout numerals and indices are all hallmarks of the series.

H. Moser & Cie Venturer Small Seconds Hand-Wound

H. Moser & Cie.'s 'Venturer' takes design cues from the '20s and '60s and the result is timeless in its artful simplicity. The smoked dial - a signature of the watchmaker - has been crafted through a highly involved process of over 200 steps, and is detailed minimally to enhance the impact of its rich tones. Powered by a hand-wound movement, it's made from 18-karat red gold with a leather strap.
