MR PORTER x Haulogerie: Watch Picks of the Week #84

Another week down, another edition of MR PORTER x Haulogerie: Watch Picks of the Week. In this week's instalment, we'll be highlighting some new watches, including pieces from Roger Dubuis, Ulysse Nardin and Vacheron Constantin. Enjoy!

Ulysse Nardin Diver Lemon Shark

Ulysse Nardin's designs have long been tied to the ocean and marine life, and the latest offering in the Swiss brand's 'Diver' collection highlights the vulnerable status of the lemon shark. Part of its ongoing collaboration with ocean data research charity OCEARCH and Florida International University, this watch is limited to a 300-piece run and individually numbered on the side of the blackened stainless steel case. Fitted with a webbing strap that's made from recycled salvaged fishing nets, it's water-resistant to 300m and engraved with three sharks on the case back. Note the touches of yellow at the bezel, dial and crown, which reference the hue of the magnificent fish.

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Huracán STO

A fusion of horological and automotive ingenuity, Roger Dubuis' 'Excalibur Spider Huracán STO' limited-edition watch is part of the Lamborghini Squadra Corse alliance. The RD630 automatic movement recalls the supercar's engine and features a 12° angled balance escapement and 360° oscillating weight with a rim-like rotor and strut-bar bridge. It has a 45mm SMC carbon case and Quick Release System perforated-leather and rubber strap that's embossed with Pirelli's 'P Zero Trofeo R' pattern.

Panerai Luminor Chrono Luna Rossa Chronograph

Panerai designed this 'Luminor Chrono' watch specifically for Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli to wear at the America's Cup. Built for performance and accuracy in the water, the stainless steel reference has been engineered in Switzerland with an in-house P.9200 automatic calibre that features chronograph functionality with a 30-minute counter and central second hands. It's fitted on the label's durable Sportech™ strap and comes with a white rubber alternative, plus the tools necessary to swap them.

Vacheron Constantin Historiques Triple Calendar

This 'Historiques Triple Calendar' watch is modelled after one of Vacheron Constantin's iconic timepieces from 1942 - it's designed with vintage gadroons along the stainless steel case and has a classic railway dial-train. Fitted on a dark-brown alligator strap, it's been manufactured in Switzerland with a calibre 4400 QC hand-wound movement that has a three day power reserve and features a date hand, as well as a day and month aperture.

Chopard Mille Miglia 2020 Race Edition Chronograph

Chopard's 'Mille Miglia 2020 Race Edition' pays homage to the iconic Italian open-road race - the Swiss watchmaker has been a partner of the event for 33 consecutive years and Copresident Mr Karl-Friedrich Scheufele has been a longstanding competitor, too. Limited to a run of 1000 pieces, this model is powered by a chronometer-certfied chronograph movement. The 42mm DLC-coated stainless steel case houses a satin-brushed dial with hour, minute and second hands as well as chronograph functions and a date indicator. Motorsport fans will appreciate the black calfskin strap, which is lined in rubber in a nod to 1960s Dunlop tyres.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic Medium Thin

Jaeger-LeCoultre developed its iconic 'Reverso' watch in the 1930s to protect the glass face during polo matches and this model has both a silvered guilloché dial and solid stainless steel reverse. Designed with a rectangular Art Deco-inspired case and a classic black alligator strap, it's engineered with the house's Swiss-made hand-wound movement that's made up of 108 individual parts. It makes a fine gift for an anniversary or birthday - engrave the underside with a special date or message.
