Audemars Piguet is back at it, creating a new haute horlogerie masterpiece, just like it did with the new Code 11.59 some weeks prior. This time, the Royal Oak received the maison's high watchmaking attention, with the new watch featuring a split-seconds chronograph (or rattrapante) with a flyback mechanism, along with a GMT function and a big date indicator. This is reference that is not novel, with the original piece released early last year in titanium. However, this beast is crafted from a carbon composite case made using Chroma Forged Technology (CFT), which allows for improved patterns and colours, and in the case of this new watch it comes in a very sleek blue. This material is super resistant to environmental variables like heat, humidity and shocks, and has the added benefit of looking damn cool. The split-seconds function is brilliant and super welcoming, while the big date indicator is an odd addition but one that works nevertheless.

Named after Monaco, home to one of Formula 1's most prestigious races, the watch represents TAG Heuer's enduring link to the racing world. This new model exudes elegance with a silver sunray-brushed dial, green subdials, and subtle yellow accents that recall the racing car liveries of the 1920s and 1930s. It features polished silver hour markers, green Super-LumiNova® dots, and a bold yellow stripe at 12 o'clock, echoing the colors seen on iconic racing cars. Powered by the automatic Calibre 11 and encased in lightweight, durable titanium, the watch boasts a sapphire caseback offering a view of its inner workings. The green perforated strap and titanium folding clasp, paired with the historic Heuer logo, complete the vintage-inspired look.
