Watches of the Week: 27/07/2020 - 02/08/2020

Welcome to the next instalment of our regular series focusing on all of the latest watch releases of the past seven days, Watches of the Week. In this week's instalment we'll be covering new watches from Omega, TAG Heuer, Arnold & Son as well as Franck Muller. Enjoy!

Omega Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon "Alinghi"

New from Omega is the Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon "Alinghi". Made in partnership with Alinghi, a premier competitive yachting team, the Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon "Alinghi" has all of the tell-tale signs of a super contemporary interpretation of the Speedmaster. The Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon "Alinghi" draws many distinguishable similarities to the standard Dark Side Of The Moon watch, the Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon "Alinghi" features the Alinghi symbol in the register at 6 o'clock, as well a regatta time indicator (as opposed to a proper regatta timer) in the 3 o'clock register. It's an interesting, rather bold and supremely masculine piece that does produce its fair share of drama. The Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon "Alinghi" is priced at $10,800USD.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Tortoiseshell Effect

Lo and behold, TAG Heuer has revamped the Aquaracer with a distinct tortoiseshell-patterned bezel. Available in two versions, one with a red bezel with a black horizontally striped dial and black rubber strap and the other with a blue bezel, blue dial and matching blue rubber strap, the Aquaracer Tortoiseshell Effect is a refreshing and colourful take on one of TAG Heuer's most accessible watches. Both feature the Calibre 5, both measure 43mm across and both will cost $2,600USD.

Arnold & Son Ultrathin Tourbillon Koi

With a mother-of-pearl dial stylised with the carp and lotus flowers that have been meticulously hand-painted and one of the world's thinnest flying tourbillons insitu, the Arnold & Son Ultrathin Tourbillon Koi is an epic expression of haute horlogerie in every sense of the word. The combination of the beautiful dial and the flying tourbillon leaves little to the imagination, but both seem to compliment each other. It's a well poised, balanced and wonderfully endowed timepiece that seems to get better and better the more you look at it. The Arnold & Son Ultrathin Tourbillon Koi is priced at 89,000CHF.

Franck Muller Vanguard Revolution 3 Skeleton

The Franck Muller Vanguard Revolution 3 Skeleton is a horological beast in every sense of the word. It features a triple axis tourbillon, which essentially negates the effects of gravity in all positions. It's a dramatic, theatrical and highly entertaining watch that shines some light on Franck Muller's extreme capabilities. The Franck Muller Vanguard Revolution 3 Skeleton is priced at 480,000CHF.
