Watches of the Week: 29/11/2021 - 05/12/2021

Another week has come and gone, and that means another round up of all the new watch releases of the past seven days in the next edition of our regular series, Watches of the Week. In this week's instalment, we'll be featuring new watches from Zenith, IWC and Omega. Enjoy!

Zenith DEFY Sapphire Additions

Zenith has added two magnificent sapphire models to its defy collection. First off is the Defy Zero G Sapphire, an incredible timepiece that contains a gimbal to maintain the balance and spring in a flat position which negates gravity's effects on its chronometric performance. The second is the Defy 21 Tourbillon Sapphire, an all-out apex-predator of haute horlogerie that features a 60 second tourbillon and a chronograph tourbillon that rotates in a mesmerising 5 seconds.

IWC Big Pilot Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition

IWC's Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition “Le Petit Prince” is the first Big Pilot's Watch with a chronograph, breaking the mould and becoming one of the coolest models yet. Featuring a single monopusher button which is integrated into the iconic Big Pilot crown, the new Big Pilot Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition “Le Petit Prince” is a seriously interesting contender for one of the most captivating pieces of 2021.

IWC's Two New Spitfire Models

IWC has come continued its expansion of the Big Pilot family with two new brand new Big Pilot Spitfire models. Encased in a rather wearable 43mm by 14.4mm of either titanium or bronze, the new Big Pilot’s Watch 43 Spitfire does well to bridge the gap of size, of vintage nostalgia and of appeal. The titanium model comes with a black dial, while the bronze model has a funky green dial. I prefer the titanium model, but can definitely see the appeal of that bronze beauty.

Panerai Adds Two New Chrono Complicazioni Pieces

Panerai continues to attack 2021 with even more new releases, this time in the form of the new Luminor Chrono Flyback Ceramica (PAM01298) and the new Luminor Chrono Flyback Verde Militare (PAM01296). Both models continue the thematic design language of the Luminor, with both fitting nicely in the Chono Complicazioni family which is characterised by a combination of high-tech materials, complicated calibers and limited quantities.

Franck Muller Crazy Hours Limited Edition

From Franck Muller we have the new Crazy Hours Limited Edition. Inspired by Black Badge, the new Crazy Hours Limited Edition features the unconventional approach of "haphazardly" placing the hour numerals around the dial in a non-sensical order, where the piece's mechanical movement jumps from one hour to order in chronological order without any electronic processing intervention.

Hublot Big Bang Unico Arturo Fuente Ceramic

Hublot has teamed up with the celebrated cigar house Arturo Fuente to create its latest piece, the Big Bang Unico Arturo Fuente Ceramic. Encased in microblasted and polished black ceramic, the Big Bang Unico Arturo Fuente Ceramic is a fitting tribute to the exact precision and artistry of both respected institutions and is limited to only 100 pieces.

Omega Introduces Three New Globemaster Models

Omega's Globemaster collection has expanded three-fold, this time with some brand new Annual Calendar models. Available in Sedna gold, burgundy and green, the new Globemaster Annual Calendar models continue the design language that the collection is known for: fluted bezel, pie-pan dial and a classical timeless look that doesn't look out of place in any generation.
