This week was dominated by Audemars Piguet, with the maison dropping a plethora of new watches, including expansions in the Royal Oak, the Royal Oak Offshore and the Code 11.59 collections. While that was it for notable new releases coming out of Switzerland, Japan-based Grand Seiko opened its 2023 account with one of its most beautiful pieces yet. Happy reading!



Audemars Piguet Drops Its 2023 Openers

Audemars Piguet has started 2023 off with a bang, dropping over a dozen new watches. With expansions made to all four of its collections, Audemars Piguet has really laid the foundation for what may be one of the maison's biggest years yet. Listed below are the new releases, with the Royal Oak Split-Second Chronograph GMT Large Date, the Code 11.59 Grande Sonnerie Carillon Supersonnerie and the atelier's first ultra-complicated automatic wristwatch in the Code 11.59 RD#4 with its 40 functions, 23 complications, 7-years worth of research and development and new Calibre 1000 comprised of over 1,100 components taking the cake:

  • Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph (White or pink gold with baguette-cut diamonds and black onyx dial)

Grand Seiko Watchmaking 110th Anniversary

Grand Seiko unveiled its latest piece commemorating the 110th anniversary of the first Seiko wristwatch. The Grand Seiko Watchmaking 110th Anniversary Limited Edition reference SBGW295 features a titanium case with a black urushi dial and gold-powder markings. Powering the Grand Seiko Watchmaking 110th Anniversary Limited Edition is the maison's hand-wound 9S64 movement that is finished to the degree and specifications we've all come to expect from Japan's finest. The Grand Seiko Watchmaking 110th Anniversary Limited Edition is limited to only 500 pieces and is priced at USD13,800.
