Watches Of The Week: 01/04/2024 - 07/04/2024

With only a few hours to this year's Watches and Wonders event, you would definitely be forgiven if you thought that the week that was had zero movement. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't exactly the most exciting, but granted there were still a few watches that popped up.

In this week's super light Watches Of The Week edition, I'll be featuring some new watches from the likes of Omega x Swatch (Yes, a new MoonSwatch is here), Breitling and Doxa.

For those of you heading to Watches and Wonders this year, I hope you thoroughly enjoy yourselves and I look forward to seeing some wrist shots!

Have a wonderful week ahead.

Breitling's New Navitimer 41 And Cosmonaute B12 Models

Breitling announced a plethora of new watches, including a new Navitimer 41 and Cosmonaute B12 models. The handful of new models include the Navitimer Automatic 41 collection, which sport 41mm x 11.65mm thick cases in a few different metal, dial and bracelet varieties. Next up is the Navitimer Automatic 41 GMT. As the name implies, you have the addition of a GMT function from the COSC Calibre 32. And finally there is the mac-daddy, the Navitimer B12 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute. Inspired by the same piece that the astronaut Scott Carpenter wore on the Mercury-Atlas 7 (MA-7) mission on May 24, 1962, the Navitimer B12 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute measures 41mm x 13.6mm and is made of solid red-gold.

Omega MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase New Moon

After what is only a few weeks since the release of the all-white Omega MoonSwatch "Snoopy" Mission To The Moonphase, Omega and Swatch has come out with the all-black MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase New Moon. The black on black on black aesthetic is reminiscent of the Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon, albeit in a far more accessible guise. The most notable part of the MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase New Moon is that very cool luminescent moon phase which, in low-lit environments, shows lume-filled text saying "I can't sleep without a night light!".

Doxa Sub 200T

Doxa has unveiled a new piece in the Sub 200T, a watch that is reminiscent of the brand's classic Sub 300 design. Measuring 39mm and available in a variety of bright and bold colours, the new Sub 200T is a super fun, light hearted and wonderfully accessible entry point into the world of Doxa. As a conservatively minded traditionalist when it comes to horology, I've been in two minds about Doxa, but these new smaller pieces have definitely swayed my interest in the pro-Doxa camp. I really like them! It's a unique take on some pretty serious watchmaking that won't break the bank.
