Watches of the Week: 24/01/2022 - 30/01/2022

Welcome to the next edition of our weekly series where we feature the latest watch news and releases, Watches of the Week. In this week's edition, we'll be featuring some amazing new watches from Breitling and Louis Erard, as well as the resurgence of one of my favourite maisons, HYT. Enjoy!

HYT Hastroid

HYT is back, and now with David Cerrato at the helm, we can expect some pretty incredible things from the fluid-mechanics watchmaker. The first piece in the brand's resurgence is the new Hastroid. Focusing on ergonomics, readability and real-world applicability, the Hastroid is a foundational timepiece for the brand and features an evolution of the manufacture mechanical caliber developed with Eric Coudray which delivers a perfect synchronization of fluidic and mechanical time. Exciting times ahead for the brand!

Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta

Louis Erard's latest timepiece is the new Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta. Drawing inspiration from the land of Jura where the manufacture has its roots, Louis Erard has implemented the region's natural earthy colours into this new Excellence Petite Seconde model. The focal point here is that beautifully rich and warm terracotta-coloured dial, complimented beautifully by the architectural hands, art-deco hour numerals and small-seconds sector sub-dial. The new Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta is available in two models: one with a 39mm case and the other with a 42mm case.

Breitling Avenger B01 Chronograph 45

Available in three distinct models, steel with an anthracite or blue dial, and a two-tone stainless and red gold model, the new Breitling Avenger B01 Chronograph 45 is an ode to the collection's longstanding notion of excellence and robustness. Powering the new Breitling Avenger B01 Chronograph 45 is the watchmaker's manufacture 01 movement, which now features a power reserve of a whopping 70-hours, all visible through an open sapphire caseback.

Panerai Opens New Flagship + A New Luminor Model

Panerai has opened a new flagship concept store in Geneva. Nicknamed "Modularità Espressiva", this duplex is a unique and wholly interesting perspective on innovation from the brand. A key highlight is a bar in Art Deco style, which functions both as a café as well as an interactive rotating shelf through which customers can play and discover their favorite strap and case combinations. To celebrate, Panerai has unveiled the new Luminor Geneva Boutique Special Edition in a limited run of only 121 pieces. This new model features a 44mm matte black dial made of titanium with DLC coating, along with the P.5000 movement.
